Show Notes

Ayahuasca and Shamanic medicine are without a doubt some of the oldest forms of medicine known. Today’s guest, Guy Crittenden is the author of “The Year of Drinking Magic – 12 Ceremonies with the Vine of the Souls”.

On today’s show we dive deep into all things Shamanic. Guy walks us through what an Ayahuasca ceremony entails and what one can expect; from hallucinations to insights and purging. We talk about the resurgence in Spiritual medicine and ethno-tourism; and how plant medicine is now spreading to other parts of the world. Lastly, we discuss the global impact this could have and how raising our individual and collective consciousness can have resounding effects with regards to global healing and changing the current path we find ourselves on.

Guy spent 25 years as an award-winning environmental journalist and family man. After a life-changing trip to the Peruvian Amazon in late 2013, he left his job to write freelance articles and books, focusing on environmental issues and spiritual themes such as Amazonian plant shamanism.

Crittenden is currently pursuing his spiritual and shamanic interests, which include Tantra and nondual philosophy, Sufism, studying Buddhist and Hindu sacred texts and practices, yoga, meditation, and working with entheogens. He sits on the board of several philanthropic organizations, including the Amazon Rainforest Conservancy (ARC) to which all his royalties from the The Year of Drinking Magic will be donated.
