Show Notes

Glyphosate is the principle ingredient in Round Up and has become ubiquitous in the food supply over the last 20 years. It is the most widely used agricultural chemical in the world and has been associated with a whole host of health effects.

Carey Gillam joins me on today’s show to discuss her book “Whitewash- The Story of a Weed Killer, Cancer and the Corruption of Science”. We cover alot of ground in this episode including policy and legislation, how companies like Monsanto skew science and influence politics; and what the independent science is starting to show. We also discuss the latest court cases and dive into how the prosecutors won both cases in favour of the plaintiffs. Other areas we touch on include maximum residue limits, glyphosate and the microbiome and GMO labeling

This is an issue that concerns us all and doesn’t seem to be going away! Join me to at the Toronto March Against Bayer rally on May 25th.

Carey Gillam is a veteran investigative journalist with more than 25 years of experience covering corporate news, including 17 years as a senior correspondent for Reuters international news service.
